Itinerary
MEALS: DINNER ONLY
Arrive at Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport, Leh, where our representative will meet you and transfer you to the hotel. After check-in, spend the entire day resting and acclimatizing to the high altitude. Avoid strenuous activity, long walks and unnecessary sightseeing. If you feel completely comfortable, take a very short and easy walk around the nearby area in the evening.
Important: No high-altitude sightseeing should be planned on arrival day. The official Ladakh advisory recommends complete rest on Day 1.
MEALS: BREAKFAST & DINNER
After breakfast, begin your first sightseeing excursion around Leh and the Sham Valley. Places to Visit Hall of Fame: Visit this important military museum showcasing the history and achievements of the Indian Armed Forces in Ladakh. Gurudwara Pathar Sahib: Continue towards the famous Sikh shrine located along the Leh–Srinagar highway. Magnetic Hill: Stop at the famous optical-illusion site surrounded by dramatic mountains. Indus–Zanskar Confluence: Witness the meeting point of the Indus and Zanskar rivers. Alchi Monastery – optional: If road and timing conditions permit, visit the famous Alchi monastery complex.
Return to Leh by evening.

Return to the hotel for dinner.
The Hall of Fame, Pathar Sahib, Magnetic Hill and Indus–Zanskar confluence are commonly included in Leh/Sham sightseeing circuits.
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and begin the scenic drive towards Kargil. The road follows the Indus Valley before climbing through the spectacular landscapes of western Ladakh.

See the famous rock-carved Maitreya Buddha and surrounding Himalayan landscape. Lamayuru If time permits, make another short stop around the monastery and Moonland landscape. Alchi Monastery Visit one of the most important heritage sites in Ladakh, famous for its ancient Buddhist artwork, murals, sculptures and woodwork.
Continue towards Leh. On arrival, check in to your hotel and relax. This return to Leh is strategically useful because the following days involve substantially higher-altitude destinations.

After an early breakfast, begin your drive towards Nubra Valley. The road gradually climbs towards Khardung La, one of the world's most famous high mountain passes. Khardung La Pass Stop at the pass for photographs and enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. Continue towards Nubra Valley, a beautiful cold-desert region surrounded by rugged Himalayan mountains. Diskit Monastery Visit Diskit Monastery, the largest and one of the most important monasteries in Nubra Valley. The giant Maitreya Buddha statue overlooking the valley is one of Nubra's major attractions. Hunder Sand Dunes Continue to Hunder, famous for its dramatic sand dunes and double-humped Bactrian camels. You can enjoy a camel ride at Hunder at your own cost, subject to availability and local operating conditions. Check into your hotel/camp and relax.

After breakfast, drive towards Turtuk, one of the most fascinating villages in the Nubra region. The road follows the Shyok River and offers dramatic views of barren mountains, green villages and cultivated fields. Explore Turtuk village and experience its distinctive Balti culture and architecture.

Return to Nubra Valley by evening.
If time permits, visit Sumur or Panamik depending on road conditions and the final operating schedule.

After breakfast, leave Nubra Valley for one of the most spectacular drives of the tour. Travel through the Shyok Valley towards Pangong. The landscape gradually changes from Nubra's cold desert to the high-altitude Changthang region.

Arrive at Pangong Tso in the afternoon/evening.
Pangong sits at approximately 4,350 metres and is famous for its changing shades of blue, green and gold.

Overnight: Hanle
Wake up early to enjoy sunrise over Pangong Lake. After breakfast, begin the journey towards the remote Hanle region, subject to current route permissions and road conditions. The route passes through the spectacular Changthang landscape.

Arrive in Hanle by evening and check into your accommodation.
Hanle is famous for its exceptionally clear night skies and is home to the Indian Astronomical Observatory.
Enjoy the peaceful surroundings and, if weather and local conditions permit, spend some time stargazing.
Operational note: This is one of the most sensitive portions of the itinerary. Access to restricted/border areas can depend on current permissions and regulations, so the exact route should be reconfirmed before departure.

After breakfast, depart Hanle and continue through the spectacular Changthang plateau. The journey takes you through some of the most remote landscapes of Ladakh.

After breakfast, begin your return journey towards Leh. The route takes you through some of the most spectacular landscapes of the Changthang and More Plains region.

Rancho School / Druk White Lotus School Optional visit depending on current visitor access. Hemis Monastery Visit one of Ladakh's most important monasteries. Leh Market Return to Leh and spend some time shopping for:
